Education and skills

Your support ensures access to education and training to improve livelihood opportunities for displaced populations and vulnerable groups such as women and girls.

Conflict and disasters disrupt the education of vulnerable young learners worldwide while skills development is vital in securing livelihood opportunities for marginalized groups such as women and the differently abled. CLWR is committed to working with these at-risk populations and with your support, help them improve their future prospects.

Education

Part of our work in improving access to quality education includes supporting the repair of school infrastructure and ensuring adequate hygiene facilities such as washrooms. In addition, we work to develop the skills of educators and school management through training. Your support also allows us to address emotional and psychosocial needs of vulnerable learners as they deal with conflict, disaster or displacement.

Skills development

In many of the regions where CLWR works, women have fewer opportunities than men to find employment, and the opportunities that do exist are difficult to access. This exacerbates existing economic and social barriers, compounding the challenges they already face. For women with disabilities, the situation is even more difficult. Your support allows us to provide these vulnerable groups with access to technical and vocational training programs suited to their specific needs, helping them get jobs and gain financial independence.

Partnerships

CLWR is a proud member of the Canadian International Education Policy Working Group (CIEPWG), a coalition of 20 international development, humanitarian and advocacy organizations working to support policies and programs to improve access to safe, inclusive, quality education for all children and youth.
